How many days before I expire will I be eligible to renew?

What is the renewal application grace period?

The grace period in which you can apply for renewal after license expiration varies by license type. To view renewal grace period and reinstatement information for your license or registration, visit our One-Stop Licensing App and search for your license or registration.

 

Why don’t I see an option to renew in CORE?

There are many reasons why you may not see your renewal in CORE. Below are some common answers:

  • First, confirm you are in the open renewal timeframe.
  • Confirm that you have not already completed the application and paid the fee. From the main screen, select “Pending Transactions” then “Submitted.”
  • Confirm that you are signed into the correct account. From the main screen, select “My Licenses or Permits” to confirm the license is associated with your account.

 

Why can’t I update my contact information on my renewal form?

Most often, you will need to submit a separate change of address transaction in CORE. From the main screen, select “Update License or Permit,” then select the “Change Address” transaction. If you simply want to update your phone number or email address, contact your program area.

 

If I submit my renewal before my expiration date, will I get a late fee?

If you submit a completed application prior to your expiration date you will not get a late fee. If you do not meet all the renewal requirements prior to your expiration, then you may be subject to a late fee.

 

How do I renew my license?

Visit https://core.tn.gov and select “Sign In” at the top right corner of your screen.

 

Can I renew my license on my mobile phone or tablet?

Yes, the new CORE website will adjust its screen to fit whichever device you are using. This makes it easy to use the system on a mobile phone or tablet.

 

How do I check the status of my renewal?

Login to your account at https://core.tn.gov. From the main screen, select “Pending Transactions” then “Submitted.”

 

How many education (i.e., continuing education, professional development hours, continuing professional development) hours do I need for renewal?

Education requirements vary by license type. To view required education for your license or registration, visit our One-Stop Licensing App and search for your license or registration.

 

I forgot my email/username or password. How do I get help signing in?

Visit https://core.tn.gov and select “Sign In” at the top right corner of your screen. Then, select “Need help signing in?” You may select the “Forgot password?” or “Unlock account” or “Help” links.

 

 

“Forgot Password?” will send an email with a new password link.

 

“Unlock account” will send an email to unlock your account after too many password attempts. 

 

“Help” will give you answers to Frequently Asked Questions. Select this link to view the Okta Sign-In Help page.
