I let my appraiser license expire. How do I have it reinstated?

When a real estate appraiser credential expires, the licensee must stop performing real estate appraisals and should not communicate appraisal reports until the credential has been renewed. There is a six-month (180 days) grace period to renew a credential, though it does not provide for an appraiser to continue working with an expired license.  The appraiser must meet all renewal requirements including submission of renewal forms, 28 hours of continuing education, and payment of the renewal fee including the late fee ($100) if received less than 30 days prior to expiration.  If your credential has expired for more than six months, and you do not hold an active credential in another state, you will have to register as a trainee and complete the current requirements to become licensed or certified prior to gaining any other credential.
