Expired-Grace and Reinstatement

Deadre Morkert -

Expired-Grace: If an agent has expired for less than sixty (60) days past the expiration date, renewal can be completed through their CORE account.

Agents that have been expired for more than sixty (60) days must request reinstatement through their CORE account. After a licensing specialist has processed the request, they will be notified of the steps to reapply for a license within 7-10 business days.

After one (1) year, you must retest and reapply for licensure.

7/1/25 Law Changes:

Any licensee in retirement that fails to pay the renewal fee causing a licensure lapse can reactivate their license if the licensee: (1) pays all back renewal fees + penalty fees AND (2) submits proof of completion of all continuing education during the lapsed time period OR submits proof of completion of a commission-approved course consisting of thirty (30) hours of continuing education (TRACE). [Also, retesting and reapplying is available].

A licensee requesting reinstatement expired for more than two (2) years, but not temporarily retired, may reinstate their license upon (1) payment of lapsed renewal fees, (2) payment of the late penalty fees (capped at $1,200.00), AND (3) completion of a commission-approved course consisting of thirty (30) hours of continuing education (TRACE). • Until rulemaking is complete, for those licensees that have been expired for more than one (1) year, but less than two (2) years, the options are to retest and reapply OR request to be presented before the Commission.
