Reciprocity

Christine Marotteck -

The Tennessee Real Estate Commission does not offer a reciprocal license at this time. However, if you hold a real estate license in another state you may still qualify under Tennessee statute to have your real estate education, the national portion of the exam, and/or your experience substitute for Tennessee's education, the national portion of the examination, and/or experience.

To determine eligibility, please email the following documents to TREC.Info@tn.gov. A licensing specialist will review your submission and notify you of the next steps.

1. TREC A Worksheet

2. Certified License History from all states where you hold or have held a real estate license.

Please be aware that a real estate licensee from another state cannot "partner" with a Tennessee license holder to conduct business that requires a Tennessee Real Estate license. A Tennessee Real Estate license must be obtained by the individual. A licensed Tennessee Broker may pay a commission to a licensed broker of another state provided such a non-resident broker does not conduct in this state any of the negotiations for which a commission is paid.
