How to Apply - Qualifying Agent

Applicants must submit an application online at and a $200 initial license fee along with proof that the applicant met the following requirements:

I. "Initial Qualifying Agent Application" Application (CORE)

II. Supporting Documents

1. Fingerprints, Electronically Scanned

2. Two 1" x 1" color passport-style photos

3. If a criminal history exists applicants must disclose all arrests/charges and provide certified court documents showing the final disposition of all charges.

4. Level 1 Training, to be completed with company.

5. Proof of Qualifying Education 

6. Qualifying Agent Exam (PSI) 

III. Fee, $200

A Qualifying Agent may only be the Qualifying Agent for one Alarm Contractor Company. They must be a full time employee. 

An Alarm Contractor Company can have only 1 Designated Qualifying Agent, but can have more than 1 Qualifying Agent. The DQA must hold all classifications that the company has. The QA is only required to have the classification in the area they are working in.
