International Applicants

Unfortunately, the Board does not recognize international licenses.  However, you may fill out an Application to Test. Please include education and licensure credentials which must be translated in English (if applicable) as well as other required documents listed on the instructions page.  This information will be presented to the Board and they will make a determination whether your education is comparable to Tennessee's requirements.  Please be advised, the Board may determine that your credentials are sufficient, at which time you will be instructed to take the exams.  However, they may decide that you must obtain additional credit hours in order to qualify to take the exams.  It would be beneficial to submit your work history and any additional supporting documentation which may substantiate your experience in the cosmetology profession.
